An old caretaker enter a decaying museum and salivates into a Kinetoscope machine, where mechanisms begin to revolve, rusted wires move along autonomous pulleys, and hatches open to reveal a hidden world. The puppet figure of an emaciated man is animated by the strange machinery, severing the wires from which he hangs, before embarking on a journey through the Street of Crocodiles, a suite of decrepit rooms whose substance has a bizarre life of its own robotic mannequins perform a strange rite, a mischievous boy plays pranks on him. Finally, the man finds himself dissected, remodelled and newly tailored in a bizarre store.
