Song Of Kamera
This is a video performance based on the invention - or discovery - of photography. Inventions are as much a consequence of ideologies as they are a product of a society's technological state. When photography was 'invented' in the 19th century, it conformed to the high status ascribed to observable phenomena, sometimes taken to mean objective reality. Then and now, popular responses to photography have mystified the nature of the image. The Song of Kamera is my own way of exercising a subjective view of photographic - or past - reality.
