An anti war film using both animations and real object photography with diagrams, animated maps, puppets, and live action shots. "This anti war film experiments with a variety of filmic effects culminating in the 'flicker' effect of rapidly moving patterns. The film was an impressionistic view historical survey of the period between 1900 and 1918. Made in collaboration with the sculptress Helen Biggar, it was intended as a graphic message indicting warfare and showing the devastation possible were another war to occur." Maynard Collins, 'Norman McLaren' (1975)
