'The Colour Of Memory' uses family footage from the mid-1960's to show the moving image as a spectral memorial for the passing of time. The multiplicity of the baking process also echoes the multiplicity of moving image technology. The differing sections refer to the representation of memory in narrative cinema. The incorperation of four different types of technological in the making of this work (8mm film, copied to U-matic video, copied to mini-DV, then copied to DVD) as it has travelled through the technological time and in constant storage, (i.e. forgetfulnes) further reinforces ideas around reproducibility, repetition and the archiving of memory.
