A woman opens and swallows oysters and removes small stones from her body, washed there by the sea. â€˜When an oyster is opened for examination it is also destroyed.â€™ (C. M. Yonge). Oyster beds are revealed by the outgoing tide. Against this, an older woman puts together a tenor saxophone and prepares to play. She skilfully with total control. Cold Jazz was awarded a Certificate of Merit at Chicago International Film Festival, 1993.
