Andrew Stones video tapes (and installations) may be seen as symptomatic of a culture poised between an exaggerated sense of manipulative control, and the evidence of human frailty. They also allude to the often-repeated movement from utopian to apocalyptic metaphor, where popular perceptions of the scientifically-mediated world are concerned.
